DIVORCE, SEPARATION, & ANNULMENTS

Whether you're attempting to begin (or respond to) the divorce process, the legal separation process, or an annulment proceeding, it is usually an overwhelming process involving several documents to fill out, residency requirements to meet, deadlines to meet, and a ton of gray areas.

Generally speaking, it only takes one person to get a divorce while it takes both spouses to agree to a legal separation. There are pros and cons with each option and factors like religious beliefs and insurance purposes play a part in determining what the best route is for you and your family.

Contrary to popular belief, a legal separation is not mandatory prior to getting a divorce.

An annulment is attempting to void a marriage - arguing that the marriage was not legally valid to begin with. There are several criteria that must be met prior to an annulment being granted.
